Islands Interactive
Co-operation Across the Ocean.

A European Educational Project.

Three tiny island schools in Denmark, Norway and Scotland have joined together, via the Internet, to create a European classroom.

After the children got to know each other and their islands in an introductory project, they produced a collaborative and simultaneous art work guided by a professional Norwegian artist.

Each school designed two panels depicting typical aspects of their islands as perceived by the children themselves. Plans for these were then exchanged by e-mail and copied by the pupils of the other schools. The artwork is now displayed in all three island schools.

This was a Comenius project, funded by the Central Bureau for Educational Visits and Exchanges, on behalf of the Commission of the European Communities.
